Spyce Girlz Cajun Rice with Sausage & Shrimp

This easy Cajun Rice is loaded with smoky andouille sausage, tender shrimp, and bold Southern spices, all brought to life with our Spyce Girlz Cajun Soul Seasoning. It's vibrant, hearty, and irresistibly aromatic - the kind of dish that tastes like it simmered all day, even though it comes together fast enough for a busy weeknight. If you love Cajun food, shrimp, and rice bowls, or one-pan meals that deliver big flavour with minimal effort, this recipe is about to become a staple in your kitchen!

Ingredients

·       2 andouille sausages, sliced (you can also use hot Italian or any sausage you have)

·       300–400 g shrimp, peeled & deveined (optional of course)

·       1 onion, diced

·       1 bell pepper, diced

·       2 celery stalks, diced

·       2 garlic cloves, minced

·       1.5 cups long-grain rice

·       3 cups chicken broth

·       2 tbsp Spyce Girlz Cajun Soul Seasoning

·       1 tbsp tomato paste

·       1 tbsp butter + 1 tbsp oil

·       Salt to taste

 

Fancy Finishing Trio

·       2–3 tbsp sliced green onion

·       1–2 tbsp chopped parsley

·       1–2 tsp fresh lemon juice

Optional Enhancements

·       Louisiana hot sauce

·       Cajun butter drizzle (1 tbsp butter + 1/4–1/2 tsp Cajun seasoning)

·       1/2 can diced tomatoes

·       Okra or zucchini slices

 

Instructions

·       1. Brown the sliced andouille in oil + butter; remove and leave fat in pan.

·       2. Sauté onion, pepper, and celery 5–7 minutes; add garlic.

·       3. Add Cajun seasoning + tomato paste; toast 30–45 seconds.

·       4. Stir in rice to coat every grain. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer

·       5. Add broth and sausage; cover and cook 15 minutes.

·       6. Add shrimp on top, push in a little; cover and cook 5 more minutes.

·       7. Rest 5 minutes, then fluff gently.

Finishing touches

·       Add lemon juice, parsley, and green onion.

·       Optionally drizzle Cajun butter or add Louisiana hot sauce.

Variations

·       Creole-style: add diced tomatoes with broth.

·       Veg-forward: add okra or zucchini in step 2.

·       Extra Spicy: add cayenne or Spyce Girlz Habanero BBQ blend.
