our story

At Spyce Girlz, we started with a simple idea: spices should be bold, clean, and full of flavour — not packed with salt, fillers, or preservatives. We wanted blends that actually made food taste better, the kind you’d be excited to cook with every day. When we couldn’t find that on grocery store shelves, we decided to make our own. That first spark turned into Spyce Girlz — and this is how our story began...

  • AUGUST 2017: THE FIRST MARKET

Spyce Girlz began on a sunny day at a small vineyard farmer's market. Armed with just one product-our signature Taco Seasoning—13-year-old Lily Bond set up her booth. She wasn't old enough to get a "real job," but she was determined to buy herself a laptop for high school. With nothing but ambition (and a whole lot of spices), Spyce Girlz was born.

  • from farmers' markets to grocery store shelves

After a summer of sold-out markets, word spread fast. People loved the bold, clean flavours—and the story behind them. Before Lily even started high school, Spyce Girlz landed its very first grocery store: Massine's Your Independent Grocer (part of the Loblaws family).

  • the buzz was building

Fast-forward a few years: production expanded, and Lily finally moved into her very own spice kitchen. Spyce Giriz wasn't just a weekend project anymore-it was becoming a full-fledged business.

  • the farm boy breakthrough

Then came the game-changer: an order for 3,000 bags of spices from Farm Boy, Lily's first grocery chain. It was the kind of order that changes everything. By the time she graduated high school, Spyce Girl had already become her full-time job.

  • today: nation-wide expansion

Now, Spyce Girlz can be found in 150+ grocery stores across Ontario-and we're expanding across Canada. What started as one blend at a vineyard market is now a full line of gourmet seasonings shaking up kitchens everywhere.

  • giving back

For Lily, Spyce Girlz has always been about more than spices. Today, she mentors other young entrepreneurs across Canada who are just starting out, and gives back through community initiatives, food bank donations, and programs that support the next generation of makers.
